General Information for all Maryland Counties:

~ legal age for marriage is 18 years old. Under 18 needs parental consent.

~ residency is not required for bride or groom

~ either bride or groom may apply for the license

~ couple must marry within the county in which they obtain the license

~ if previously married, you need a certificate of divorce or death

~ there is a two day waiting period between the date of issue and the date of validity

~ fees range between $40.00 – $85.00, depending on the county. Most require cash.
